Guaranteed Karpet Kleen offers upholstery cleaning for a wide range of home and office furnishings including sofas, loveseats, recliners, office chairs, and many other upholstered furniture types. The GKK upholstery cleaning service experience is a multiple step process as described below;
First, the upholstery to be cleaned will be inspected with the client. This allows the client to point out any problem areas as well as raise any questions or concerns regarding the cleaning process. This also allows the technician to gather background information (age of upholstery, scope of use, etc.) and point out any pre-existing conditions that may be uncorrectible via the cleaning process. Any multi-colored fabrics that appear problematic will be tested for colorfastness. If an unstable dye is detected this can be corrected with an application of Dye-Loc dye stabilizing solution. Next, the upholstery will be power vacuumed to remove as many dry particulate soils as possible. The next step is for the upholstery to be pretreated with an emulsifier and deodorizer, then lightly agitated using a natural horsehair upholstery brush. This step is very important because this is when the soil that is entrapped in the fabric is released and suspended (deflocculation). The upholstery is then extracted using a Hydramaster Boxxer 421 truck mounted extraction system with a Hydramaster DriMaster low moisture upholstery tool. This rinses the suspended soils from the fabric as well as neutralizes the pre-spray leaving the upholstery in a clean, soft, and ph balanced state with no soil attracting residue. The upholstery is then groomed a final time for proper drying and client inspection.
An added benefit that many clients take advantage of is a post-cleaning application of Maxim Advanced Fiber Protection. Maxim Advanced represents the cutting edge of fabric protectors today. It uses state-of-the-art, environmentally safe flourochemical technology to protect against damaging dry soils as well as both water-based and oil-based spills. Maxim Advanced also coats fibers with a stain barrier to help protect against difficult dye stains.
After the cleaning has been completed, upholstery is usually damp to the touch for 2 to 4 hours (highly absorbent fibers, such as cotton, may be damp longer). This time frame is variable however, and dependent on many factors including ambient temperature, relative humidity, airflow in the immediate area, and also client instructions. For freshly cleaned upholstery that needs to be available for use soon after cleaning, airmovers can be employed to accelerate the drying process.
